Ecocentro Calathea started in 2020 as a local ecoturism project with the aim of restaurating an abandoned cattle farm into a lush natural ecosystem and garden. Ecocentro Calathea consists of an open-structure visitor's center, a botanical garden with a variety of tropical ornamental plants, fruit trees and medicinal garden. Besides that it offers a small trail through a galery forest, several ponds and lagoons, a fruit feeder as well as a photography hide.
